Duxbury SLP offers teletherapy (speech therapy over video chat). Please contact us if you are interested in starting or continuing your speech therapy with Duxbury SLP teletherapy.
Kathleen Ott M.S. CCC-SLP is a licensed speech-language pathologist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She graduated with a B.S from the University of Florida in 2005 and an M.S. from the University of Rhode Island in 2013. She holds a certificate of clinical competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She has worked in Early Intervention, school, and outpatient settings in both English and Spanish.
Kathleen is originally from Florida but now makes Duxbury her home with her husband, two children, 4 turtles, and a flock of backyard chickens.
Kathleen specializes in pediatric speech therapy including: speech/language delays, articulation (sound errors) and phonological disorders, communication differences related to diagnosis such as autism, down syndrome, and childhood apraxia of speech for children ages birth through elementary school. These services can be offered in person or via video conference.
Kathleen has additional training and interest in feeding difficulties from birth-solid food. If your child is having difficulty breastfeeding, bottle feeding, eating varied textures, or eating an adequate variety of foods, I can help. Together we can determine whether your child is a picky eater or a problem feeder and work to increase the number of foods accepted. These services can often be offered in person or via video conference.
Duxbury SLP offers the benefits of private practice speech therapy and comes to you! I can provide direct speech therapy to your child (little/no parent involvement) or work with you on a coaching model teaching you how to maximize interactions and play with your child for optimum speech and language learning (this is especially helpful for younger learners and those with language delays). Duxbury SLP also offers teletherapy (speech therapy over video chat).
Fees include all travel, test forms, and taxes. There are no hidden costs.
Phone consultation of up to 15 minutes to hear your concern, provide online resources, and determine if an in-person consult is needed. $0
Home visit and child observation (up to 30 minutes) and follow up phone call (or visit continuation of up to 30 minutes) to discuss observations and concerns. This may be best accomplished via a phone call away from your child depending on child's age and awareness of delay. Together we can determine if therapy is appropriate for your child. $160
Norm referenced standardized evaluation (up to 90 minutes) followed by a formal, written report with child's current status (strengths and weaknesses), test scores, goals, and recommendations. The report is yours to share with your child's doctor or school at your discretion. $250
Kathleen will come to your house (currently serving Duxbury) to provide speech therapy and parent coaching to meet the speech and language goals we have set for your child. Parents/caregivers are welcome as an active participant in therapy sessions to learn strategies to continue carryover at home. Older siblings can sometimes be incorporated into practice too. Most of the session will be spent learning and practicing speech/language strategies; the final few minutes will be spent wrapping up with the parent/caregiver.
Written homework or worksheets may be provided occasionally and will always be provided upon request.
$125/45 minutes with one child
$140/45 minutes with two siblings in a group or seen separately for ~20 minutes each (this is a great option for articulation goals!)
Kathleen will come to your house at meal/snack times to provide feeding therapy, parent coaching, and mealtime suggestions to meet the needs of your child. Parents are welcome as an active participant in feeding therapy sessions to learn strategies to continue carryover at home. Some strategies will be suggested for everyday use at family meals, and some will be recommended only for therapeutic meals with SLP. Due to the very specific needs of each child, feeding therapy is only provided on a one-on-one basis and the session lasts only as long as is productive for your child that day (meal + follow up with caregivers up to 45 minutes).
$135
